I have a '69 365 GT 2+2 that has faded orange front turn signal lenses. As my car has been repainted and the the chrome redone, these need updating.
It's a US car, so as I understand it, orange is the correct color lens for my car.
I bought a set of clear lenses to replace the faded orange ones. I know the clear lenses are not correct for a US car - so I'm struggling with my desire to update with aesthetically-pleasing, clear replacements and going back to the original orange color.
How bad an originality violation would the clear lenses be to the overall presentation of the car?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Consider who you are trying to please....
If you like the clear, use 'em. If you get invited to Pebble, and you're really in the running, you can change them for the judges.
