Hello All,
I would like to get your opinion and experiences on refurbishing integrated components, more specifically things that for example need to be plated to look correct but are not easy to do so. Two examples come to mind:
-> brake booster(s) that are plated not painted <- do they need to be taken apart?
-> ignition coils <- the Marelli coils on my car are plated and as such it's not a matter of just polishing them/cleaning and repainting.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I think most of the folks who rebuild the brake boosters will re-plate them correctly. Dunno about having it done without the rebuild. s

what kind of plating is on the ign coils....what yr car and type do they go to?

Not sure of all the cars they go on but I know for sure 70s Ferraris would have them?

is that a gold iridate plating on there?
considered it is sealed - u can try to plate it in tact - we do that with capacitors - never with coils, but it is possible

The boosters are disassembled, plated, and rebuilt.
