Robsandiego's ecstatic description of his 330 2+2 test drive got me wondering: what's the power steering on 330s like? How does it feel, and when do you notice it?
Initailly, I thought that I did not want power steering, because of the extra complexity, and a potential lack of feel. However, I've recently found a car that I'm really interested in, but due to distance and weather, I haven't even seen the car yet, much less driven it.
Until I get a chance to try it myself, could you guys tell me what mid-1960s Ferrari power steering feels like?
My only familiar frame of reference for Ferrari steering is a 308 GTSi, which I think is wonderful.
My only familiar frame of reference for 1960s power steering is a 1968 Buick LeSabre convertible, which is rediculously loose, low-ratioed, and over-assisted.
I assume that a 330 feels a lot more like the 308 than the Buick!
Thanks in advance,
