So I have two old ignition coils and I went to polish them and get them ready for plating.
While doing so and given the fact that they had rust and they were pitted pretty badly on the bottom half, one of them sprung a tiny pinhole leak.
Can these be repaired/restored or is it a hopeless point? I have the correct stickers and the platers were going to have them done the correct yellow cadmium/etc.
Thanks...

I have no personal experience as this, but I think the key is a skilled welder that can get in and out quick, without overheating the unit-- assuming you haven't lost much oil.

I'm not sure if someone will be able to make the weld stick with the oil in that hole. JB cold weld might work to keep the oil inside, but I think you have an oily paperweight.

Filling a hole in tin is easiest with a brass stick and oxy-acetyline, but it is also the hottest way to do it. The advantage of the torch, of course, is it burns away the filth.
