Brake caliper shims

Post by Steve Meltzer »

First, forgive me for X-posting this query. I've temporarily mounted the rear calipers on the Daytona, but have yet to install the thin
shims. I assume the goal of the spacers is to center the rotor with respect to both caliper "halves". If so, isn't it possible that the top bolt might have a different number of shims from the bottom? Are you just trying to center the calipers or is there some specific distance from the rotor you want to achieve? thanx steve

Center the caliper. Usually the same thickness of shims top and bottom does the job.
