Happy Ferrari story and Question about oil/water Temp

Post by michaelbalk330 »

We have had 2 miserable weeks of rain. This weekend I had to go about 80 miles East of Atlanta to a meeting, and weather was scheduled to be perfect, but cool all weekend. Took the opportunity to drive the 330 about 300 KM, without a hitch. Drove like a new car. An absolute blast.

However, the oil and water temps never rose over 75 degrees C, and all summer while driving I was usually at 95 C. Granted ambient was 40-45 degrees F most of the time, and the oil/ water temps did rise when I got in more of a stop and Go traffic. But I thought driving at 120KM/hr, for an hour straight would have raised the oil temp more. It was as if the colder air and air movement at speed kept things cooler. That or I have a really efficient and clean radiator and engine and should be happy! I am just making sure this is normal as I drove my car all Summer but never in the winter.

By the way I have put 2000KM on her in the last 7 months. And check how well my rear defroster works! I added a plug to the Becker so I was able to listen to Sirius on the drive home. Talk about living the life!

Perfectly normal temps for the ambient outside temperature. Find something else to worry about. Enjoy your car.

Not so fast, I see something wrong...your Cavallino is running instead of dancing. You need to loosen or maybe remove the steering wheel to rotate him into the proper position.

I have a Becker Europa, what model is your Becker? is there an factory port in the back or did you modify it?

Best Regards, Tom in Socal.

The fix is simple. Disconnect the battery, and push on the horn button to turn it to the right position!

Never even noticed my cavallino stance !
I have a Becker Europa II stereo, and you can purchase these DIN plugs that plug into the rear service port on all vintage Becker and Blaupunkts
attached are pics- all over ebay or from the Becker place in NJ.
You attach a cable from your iPhone headphone jack to it.
The only issue is on my 5s, the power port on phone is next to the output jack and I get some EM noise if its also plugged into power.
Thanks TY- save me from having to ask to obvious question!

I cannot believe I missed something so obvious! Your Prancing Horse is tipping to the left. That will cause all your gauges to read "low".
