Tom,
you are lucky it happened with a 250 GT and not with a van in case of bridges and overpasses.
Hopefully nothing serious for 4247!

For the record 4247 drove on and off the flatbed under her own power:-)

Very true! Actually it was on the flatbed because the brakes needed some work. The flatbed was on the semi because of a failed fuel line. Turns out you can't use the bed if you can't use the engine, so we used the semi to get us off the freeway. Eventually, we backed another flatbed up, bed to bed, rolled 4247 GT onto it and then lowered her to the ground. Was a "bit" more complicated than that, but you get the idea...

Hi Tom,
I one time was with a flat bed transporting a 250SWB when we broke down in the Cross Bronx Expressway on the way to Long Island. We got a replacement truck, but it was interesting to be moving an (at the time) 8 million dollar car on the streets of the Bronx to load it onto the new truck!

This almost looks like something that was "photoshopped" and belongs on the last page of Road and Track, etc. Pretty, pretty car. s
