Door Kick Plates

Post by Tom Wilson »

Last week I went to Danchuk Manufacturing (http://www.Danchuk.com) in Santa Ana, CA to check on some material for a fellow GTE owner. Danchuck manufactures parts for 1955, 1956 & 1957 Chevy's. Many years ago, a group of us on Tom's site purchased the metal that was used on the tailfins of these cars to replace the kick-panels on our doors. The material is still available for $189.95 (part number 573-P) for an 9" x 72" sheet, enough to make three sets. If I recall correctly, this material was also used on 330 2+2 and 365 2+2 doors (Can anybody confirm this?). Below is a photo of me holding my original kick plate against a Chevy Bel Air and as you can see, it is a terrific match. If your plates are as beat up as mine were, call Danchuk!

Tom, yes that is it....i was part of the buy back when we did this.....

I believe i bought 2 sets back then from whoever did the run. We had them water jetted i believe from a drawing that
someone made from the originals.

Come to think of it, i think we used my originals as the template.

Tough getting old!!

Yes, I made the template for the GTE and still have it, believe. If anybody needs it, let me know.
