seatbelt

Post by tim »

Greetings… Whilst cleaning out my garage I found the original belts from my 64 330GT. They fastened to the side of the interior behind the driver and went across to the transmission tunnel. There is no lap belt. These were in the car when I bought it 40 years ago. I changed them to a proper Simpson 3 inch lap belt with a single shoulder belt attached to the original mount. Manufacturers name is Klippan on the buckle. Amazing the stuff you hang on to, like a hand full of Cheney hose clamps and a few LOBO bolts.

Klippan made belts for airplanes. People will want that as it will add value in a concours. That said I should say I have seen an accident with a fellow in a 1969 911 only wearing one of those wide, early racing, clipped, lap only seat belts, they had to cut the roof of the car to get him out and he had brain damage. So all, please use three point belts when you drive.
