330 GTC trunk lid painted areas

Post by enio45 »

We are doing a bare metal respray on my customers 330 GTC....

Question i have regarding the under the trunk lid, at the corner near the tail panel, there is a small
area between the lip and the gasket that on this particular car has body color....

What I'm wondering if this is correct or should it be consistent black like the rest of the under the lid area?

Appreciate the input - anyone got an orig paint car for reference?

Hi Ed,

I have an original paint GTC at the shop right now, and I'll take a look at this area for you tomorrow.

Ed, You may also want to check for photos in the owners manual. Not sure about the GTC, but the 330 GT manual includes a picture of light-colored car with an open trunk, so you might be able to see the color contrast between body color and black if there is a photo.

Peter and Tom - thanks for the response and look forward to hearing what tim finds out.....

peter - ill dig up the manual and see if i can tell.....i would assume that the gt and gtc would have the same paint process for the underside of the corners of the trunk lid.....i assume :-)
