Tom, I am carefully following this and am looking forward to reading and seeing more about it. This is exactly the same diff as in the early PF coupes. The winter of 2012/2013 will always be remembered as my most miserable, when I decided to leak-proof my diff--one of the hardest, most wretched things I've ever done. The half shaft inner bearing fit in the casing so amazingly tightly, as I recall. It's been long enough and the diff is still dry--thank God. If I may offer a tip... the studs in the casing are not blind, so this can be another source of leaks. I cleaned each bore and filled each with epoxy. Keep it coming. Thanks.

Re: Ellena Diff
After enlarging the leafspring picture at the latest blog by TY.
I mention something different /stange .
the electric Fispa fuel pump is on the" wrong" -driverside-.
So they also had to make on that chasis side an brackect for the big Fuel filter and pick up fuelline connection to the tank,
Gilco or Ferrari change pump position much later.
this confuguration can be found after the change of PF Coupe serie one to the serie two version ,around # 1500
allcars build before had the electric pump on the co-pilot side (right side) .
I offen don´t like those illness detailing Question sometimes here, but this detail is for me interesting.......
But its only an observation.
best

Re: Ellena Diff
Hi Cornelis, the pump appears to be on the passenger side, which is the correct place for this chassis type.

Sometimes I do not believe my own eyes either ,
but in this case the Hardy/donut overlapped the pump means to me the pump is placed on the LEFT side.
the hardy disk schould be the middle of the car.
anyway it not that important, but I am reading X-rays all day .
Any not familair structure lights a litle red lamp by me .
Ciao

Re: Ellena Diff
I'll take a better picture tomorrow. I too am finding this car fascinating. The build quailty from the Ellena factory is nicer when you compare the inner fenders on a PF Coupe. A Pininfarina car has single thickness fenders with splash shields in the wheel arches, but with this Ellena, I'm finding a completely finished inner fender welded and sealed. Very nice work. I seem to remember Touring built cars were finished as nicely.
Neat stuff.
