LEDs in Taillights

Post by Tom Wilson »

The LED gauge light thread is going well, so I thought I would start this one because it has a wrinkle that does not apply to the gauges. Should my GTE ever hit the road, I would feel more comfortable knowing that people can see my brake lights and turn indicators. Has anyone tried LED's? The hitch here is getting the turn indicators to blink.

For what it is worth, I brought this subject up in a Judges meeting and they said bright taillights would be an automatic deduction, safety be damned. Should I ever go for judging, I happen to have a spare set of taillights that I could use on the lawn.

Hi Guys,

You have to change the flasher to operate the new LED lights that draw less current. Here's a blog entry:

You're welcome. No worries. If it wasn't for this blog, I would have forgotten all the things I did myself!
