Rear lights 250 GTE series II

Post by Melchior »

Hello,

I have my rear lights re-chromed and needed to remove the plastic inlets which hold the bulp. Unfortunately they are not in best shape. Does anyone know where to get replacements?

regards, Martin Melchior

Hi Martin,

How bad are they? I don't believe these are readily available. I've restored these units by using parts from a modern socket. Pico is a company in the States that makes sockets. Here's a supplier here that has them:

Good luck.

Hello Tom,

thank you for this information, this looks very good and is the way I will go! Can you tell which socket model you used that fit into the chromed housing?

regards,

Hi Martin,

I unfortunately don't recall the exact unit I ordered, but I know disassembled the unit to use the internal parts to work for my particular problem. The contacts inside the old one had broken, and I was able to modify the guts of the new part to fit in the old fixture. Although I didn't use the socket, I could see there was a way to replace the old unit with the new socket. I wanted to preserve as much of the original parts as I could.

Good luck!
