Interior Dome light lens

Post by tyang »

Hi All,

I had someone looking for a replacement dome light lens, and I seem to recall a discussion about this. Did anyone have this part made yet?

Thanks in advance.

That was me. I have both the early style (narrow) and the later (wide). They came out great and I have a few extra of each. I posted a photo of each last May, but your site does not seem to keep photos that old. I can take another tonight.

Here is a photo of each. I paid $30 each, so $30 plus postage works for me. Got a few more.

Thanks Tom!

Thanks for reminding me. I've forwarded you an email from an owner looking for a lens.

Hello Tom Wilson and Tom Yang - hope you are both well.

I also remember the discussion on interior light lenses, made if I remember correctly by Yolanda Key at Aftermarket Reproductions in El Segundo.

Soon after writing on the forum at that time that I would be pleased to take one I got into moving house. Well, I imagine you know how that takes over most things. Anyway, a year or more on I am still without a usable interior light lens for #4681.

Tom W - would you be able and willing to send one to the UK? If so, please let me know the cost including postage (or whatever). I can PM you my new address (although DW has it on the GTE register mailing list too) when necessary. Paypal is probably the simplest way of paying, if you're OK with that.

Needless to say, I can't claim to be in a hurry to get a lens.

Also, I saw recently that Bell Classics here in the UK are offering interior light lenses but I don't know where they are being made.

Best wishes,
Terry Gardiner

I am happy to send you one. Will check out the cost of sending it your way. Yes, Paypal is the best way to go. You should need the wider cover that is in the photo below, but just want to check to make sure.

Hi Tom
Yes, it's the wider (later) lens. Look forward to hearing more.

Hi Tom,
I was cleaning the interior of 4151 and noticed that my dome light lens is shrunken and slightly twisted on the ends and should be replaced. Do you have any of the wider lenses left? If so, would you be willing to ship me one?
Thanks,
Ron

No problem Ron. $30 plus shipping, which I will look up. Fortunately shipping within the US is much faster and cheaper than shipping overseas!

Tom,
Can you ship me one whenever it's convenient?
What's the best way to send payment? Check or Paypal?
Thanks,
Ron
