Looking for contact in Italy for engine rebuild

Post by Melchior » Mon Dec 30, 2019 9:17 am

Hi,

I decided to completely restore the drive line of my 250 GTE - engine, gear box and overdrive. I live in Austria and look for a dedicated Specialist who repairs these Colombo V12 regularly with dedicated experience.

Does anybody know a good workshop with reputation in Italy, Austria or Germany?

Any advice is appreciated - thank you.

Regards,

Martin

in Italy I would contact Luca Amadei of Modena Motori. He made complete engines for Ferrari Classiche. He also remakes a lot of spareparts for old Ferraris.

Hello Martin,

where do you live in Austria? I am every two weeks in Graz.

I live in Germany and am completely overhauling my
250 Gte at the moment. I am 99% through with the car
and at the moment am completely overhauling the engine.

There are several shops who are capable of doing the job
in Germany, Italy or the Netherlands. Prices differ extremely. Prices for a complete engine overhaul in Germany from a reputable shop will be 50k€ minimum, some quote up to 100...
Italy is much better in this context.

Luca Amadei from Modena Motorsports was already mentioned, another would be Nuova Lunelli in Modena.

Then there is Roloefs in the Netherlands.

Hello Christofer,

I do live in Graz und would like to share your experience at your restoration project as I am at the beginning of a frame-off restoration. I have sent you a private message with my cell phone number - please give me a call, thank you.

Regards, Martin
