Carlo was the mechanic in the Seattle area for working on the old V-12s. I will miss him.
Carlo owned a GTE that TomY helped pass onto a new owner. See http://tomyang.net/blog/2011/04/01/a-new-survivor-car
Carlo Durante passed on last night.

Sad news. I too will miss him.
Here's a video I shot when we purchased his old GTE.

Re: Carlo Durante passed on last night.
Here is what I wrote on facebook entry where I first learned of Carlo passing:
Lowell Brown This news makes me very sad. Carlo was a wonderful person and a good friend. We bought our 308 in 1992. We joined the Ferrari Club. Our first event was a tour that started from the steps of the State Capital. There were about 10 Ferraris with Carlo driving an Alfa Romeo at the back of the pack. After Shirley and I failed to find almost all of the places that we were supposed to identify, we finished at a beautiful park for a picnic. Carlo did not appear until an hour or so later with dirty hands showing some minor burns. In following the pack, he stopped at the side of the road where a 308 had steam escaping. Carlo found that the hose in the vee of the block in that very small area under the plenum had broken. A nearby farmer had a piece of hose that just a little bit to big in diameter. Carlo wrapped electrical tape around the fittings so that he could attach the hose. This is exceedingly difficult to do in that small space. Since the engine was hot, Carlo's hands were burned a little. After adding water, the 308 finished the drive to the picnic, with Carlo following. This act of kindness was typical of Carlo.
