330 America

Post by Wrigs2019 »

The auction on BaT ends today already up to 330k. Not bad for a car which some would say needs a complete restoration.

$419 hammer! I guess my car may be worth a little more. I saw this car in person back in August in Salem OR: http://tomyang.net/?p=21327 .

The car was running and driving but was right on the precipice of needing a full restoration. I spoke to several people about this car, but I had no idea it would bid this high. Is this part of the "Bring a Trailer" phenomenon, or is the market really moving up? It seems auction results are strong, but BAT seems to doing even better. Perhaps this is due to the reasonable pricing structure BAT offers, but there are a lot of eyes on that auction site. I even heard some $$$ collectors have been watching and bidding. If this is true, regular BAT bidders don't stand a chance!

Not a totally similar case at the Bonham’s Zoute (Belgium) auction yesterday. £502k inc premiums for a 250 GTE.
From the description and photos it may have had a significant proportion of the value spent on restoration. A very well known history too it seems.

Maybe GTO Engineering are buying them?
