First, you need to have:
Always allow BBCode: Yes
Always allow HTML: Yes
set in your profile.

I bring up the picture from the website in a browser. Then copy the complete URL (including the http through the ...jpg). Note, the image doesn't need to appear in a web page. It just has to be stored in the web site. However, you have to know the URL to find it if you can't click on a thumbnail on a page.

Build your message in the reply area. When you want to insert the image, click on the 'Img' button at the top right. Then paste in the URL. Then click on 'Close Tags' also at the top right. You will notice that the URL is surrounded by [img]...[\img] put in by the buttons.

Complete your message and then click on Preview. The image should appear. If not, use the reply box to make corrections and click on Preview again until you get it right.

Regards, Kerry

Gotcha. I didn't (and still don't) know what BBCode was, so I left it checked as off. I had also tried to use the "img" button, but never thought to use "close tags" at the end. I will try it next time I post a photo!

Hi Tom (Wilson),

The BBCode is the forum software, and can be used as a shortcut instead of using html when posting. Kerry couldn't have explained it better, but let me know what I can do to help.

Hi Fest,

It's working now! I went to the url you provided, and saw that it was a yahoo page. I right clicked on the picture and copied the link location and pasted that link into the message.

thanks Tom!

it still no worky for me-
the whole pirpose of this excercise
is so that we can post photos
without Administer intervention
(that would be you)

I think it may be the way Yahoo is set up-
it may be the way I have it set up
or
Yahoo may not allow it, period
(seems like you alluded to something like that)

any how I will see if I can get it to work!

Hi Fest,

Yup, nothing comes for free, so Yahoo is not going to make it easy to do what we want on this forum. I'm just not sure what's not working for you if I just made it happen with the image you tried earlier. You guys are seeing it, right?

O.K. I figured it out. I'm not halucinating! I opened that picture and it stored in my computer's cache, so whenever I looked at the message with that url, it showed the picture on my MAC. When I tried looking at it on my wife's PC, it was a no show. Where does it leave fest? Unfortunately, no way to post pictures without finding another way to post pictures when using yahoo to store them. Sorry! I hope he finds a better way, as I'm sure we'd love to see what he's talking about within his messages.

I have gotten a web site and stored my photos there. That seems to work.

maybe I can change my profile/settings on Yahoo?
we shall see...

back on the subject which was
????? oh yeah
OIL PRESSURE GAGE

the 'Original Ferrari V12' book by Bluemel
has some pretty good pictures of the Gauges
on all of the models that we find so interesting
including the GTC

even if this is not much help
this is a book you should have in your library any how
if not as a resource
at least to look at the pretty pictures
(altho some are admittedly pretty ratty like the C/4 and GT4 2+2)

Matt,

I was with a friend when I met you, if you recall. He ended up buying the silver Shortnose from deGarmo. If you guys like to compare notes let me know. I can give you his email address. He is tackling carburetion problems at the moment.

Thanks.
