330GTC radiator

Post by tinbender »

I am having the radiator from my 330GTC repaired. Wondering if the core gets painted or just everything except the core?

Greetings...Typically the entire radiator gets painted unless you ask them not to.

Yes. I realize this, which is why I am asking if anyone knows if this is what was done from the factory.

Factory radiators were painted satin black all over. Today, I would recommend leaving the core unpainted or with the lightest possible coat of paint to help heat transfer.

I took Dykes advice on this when I re-cored mine. I just sprayed the rear face of the fins and then only to the upper flats of the fins by aiming the spray at about 45 degrees. This way when you look in the engine bay you do not see naked brass.
