365 GTC4 stainless windscreen trim

Post by Dr. Ian Levy »

Hello all
I posted this originally Novemebr 2001 & then again Feb 2002 with no results. Maybe I will be lucky this third time.
Does anyone know of a GTC 4 being broken up?
I am in derperate need a part of the stainless trim for the windscreen/windshield for my 365 GTC 4
Ferrari part number is 253.40.052.08
I have 3 of the 4 pieces but the windscreen people who replace the broken screen put ALL the old pieces in the garbage because they were slightly damaged!!
Expert metal fabricators in the UK have declined to attempt making the piece saying it is impossible to do without the original tooling
Anyone got any ideas that might help ?
Regards

Have you called the King of Toasted Ponies? When I was there last, he was selling the Daytona front clip to some Frenchman. You never know.

Ian,

Recently Tom sent me a picture of a 365GTC/4 being carried around on a forklift. We were kidding around and the picture was some kinda joke, but the car was for real and it was probably part of his collection.

Hi John
I have seen this pic , it was sent to me by Aaron Masters
I think it is Tom Shaughnessy who has the car & Luke the address that you have given me is the same. Can you please identify his Majesty?
Aaron contacted him & unfortunately he said he has none of the pieces.
My question is "where did they go?" but as yet I have no answer
Thnaks for youer input but as yet I am no nearer a solution

I have a solution. You might have to buy a whole car. Have you always wondered what it would look like in another color? This will solve ALL of your parts problems. Think of the ease of troubleshooting !

Seriously, good luck in your search. Yes, I was referening to TS. Just keep looking in Hemmings, you will find one being dismantled eventually.

thx
