Head Liner

Post by Charlie_Dodge »

One of the details that I find attractive on my 330 is the ribbed head liner. I have a 67 BMW 2000cs that needs a new liner. I was thinking about adding a bit of class to the BMW by replicating the look of the Ferrari. Can anyone tell me how the Ferrari head liner is constructed? Thank you.

Hi Charlie:

I replaced the headliner in my 365. It is a single piece of material that is stiched to a thin piece of foam in the parallel pattern that is common to Ferraris. I believe the dimension is ~1". The foam backed liner is then glued to the underside of the roof of the car, alignment must be perfect to say the least.

That's great!

Thank you Mark. It sounds like it will be a lot easier than I thought it would be. The challenge will be in the sewing.
