Rubber Mats

Post by Yale »

Thinking about rubber mats to cover my rugs on the cross country trip? Would like to get that ribbed old style matting matched to the cars interior (size wise). Would this be silly expensive? Anyone have an idea? Yale

Yale,

Use the "diamond" rubber Ferrari and Maserati used in the 50's in their race cars' interiors and sometimes in the trunks of the road cars. It is not that expensive. Restoration Supply Co in Reno, Nevada caries it so do a number of other upholstery suppliers. Here is a picture.

Yale -

This suggestion may be too Germanic, but I've recently bought a set of Cocomats for my '87 BMW. The quality is good, they're custom made, they're not too expensive, and they seem to be very rugged.
