Does anyone know the 1968 "365C Spyder" at Kruse

Post by Matt F »

I know that a lot of you guys, especially Kare, know what rebodies were made from what chassis numbers.

There's an offering at this fall's Kruse auction (www.kruse.com) that's only described as a 1968 365C Ferrari Spider. It's picture clearly shows 3 Weber carbs close together, so I assume it's a six-cylinder. Does anyone know anything more?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Um.. that's the normal carb layout for the 12s. There are obviously some problems with the accuracy of auction listings, and this one is a pretty good example. The descriptions of the two cars have been swapped. The 365C is the first car on the list - a 365 California. The "Dino re-creation" is the racecar replica below it. And assuming that the 1961 designation belongs on this lot description as well, it's probably a GTE under that repro skin. Another one bites the dust.

Thanks, David, for that clarification. That makes a lot more sense.

If it's a Dino recreation, like a 196, wouldn't that also indicate a V-6? (Those carbs do look very close together, although it's not the clearest picture.)

So...

Does anyone know anything about the 1961 Dino "recreation" at Kruse?

Thanks in advance,

Matt
