Metric Fasteners

Post by fest »

These guys are GREAT
for those hard-to-find Metric Fasteners
e.g. they had the 18x1.5x120mm Bolt I needed

http://www.metricmcc.com

site is pretty well executed, too
(once you figger it out; e-price is easier to use than catalog)

Tom, these guys even have metric square nuts.

See http://www.metricmcc.com/queryFrame.asp?C=6&DefID=80

minimum

Post by fest »

please be aware, as wholesale distributors
these guys have (pretty severe at times) minimums
e.g. 6mm 'Tall' Nyloc Nuts @100 pcs
however, @ $0.079 each, it doesn't seem too bad
especially compared to the $4.00+ EACH
I was quoted 'from Ferrari'

in my case as I am re-painting the engine
and want to use new fasteners
I will be using quite a few-
besides, in the case of the 6mm Locknut
it seems that about a gazillion of these are used on my car
(10 mm wrench size)
so having some spares around is a good thing

I have noticed that ACE Hardware carries a wide selection of the common metric nuts and bolts. For high strength engine bolts always check the stamp on the bolt head 8.8 to 10.9 etc., and obtain them from a knowledgable source. Ferrari dealers carry a good but expensive selection if you need only one or two.
