Hello
I would like to extend the induction pick up wire on my timing light(SnapOn 2261) so that I do not have to thread it through the engine bay on my 365 GTC4. I have melted the insulation many times on hot exhaust parts & feel this would be a good idea.
Will the timing light still function properly with an extended pick up lead?
Can anyone give me some advice?

Hi Doc,
Extending the cord to maybe twice its length should be OK (from an electrical engineering perspective). But try to use wire constructed in the same manner as the original (maybe it's a twisted pair inside of a foil shield, maybe it's a coaxial cable).
