jack. pic and values

Post by lukek »

What is the going price on a jack for a 250 GTE these days? Is this one correct?

In addition to checking with Santa, I wanted to see if anybody priced one recently. I am also not likely to use it....so it has to cost less than my primary flat tire tool. a Treo 600.

You may want to check the current Alfa Romeo jacks available on ebay. Yours is very similar to those used by the early Alfas. Worth taking notice, there are a number of parts common to other Italian cars primarily Alfa Romeo and yet much more reasonably priced.

Sure it can do goverment work should you prefer:) . I will assure you that is close enough and with a little work it will also do the Ferrari work as well. There are about 4 different styles of these jacks used by Alfa this being an early 70's item. As I get some spare time I will go to my spare parts storage pull out one of these jacks do a little work and share the picture with the group. I promise you that not even Enzo could tell the difference once done.:) :) :) :)

You aren't actualy going to use that jack in the event of a flat are you?

These things kink the body work and have the tendancy to kink themselves. Just get a scissor jack out of a SAAB in a junk yard, these things are stout and go under a frame member, not a light weight sill.

I bought a new 7K lb scissors jack and keep it in the large old boxy leather lawyer's briefcase that is my rolling toolkit. nice for show, but in terms of function those original ones look like a joke.

Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year with many good driving miles to everyone! :D
