Pardon a question from a newcomer. Even here in the more rural state of Arkansas, I run across tales of 308 project cars with engine problems; from no motor to needing rebuilds ($$$). Of course the uniqueness of a Ferrari is the engine itself. But in the real world of butchered cars and limited money, has anyone run across any specific information on converting a 308 series Ferrari to a modern American V8 such as the Cadillac Northstar or Olds Aurora? Both of the above are transverse mounted and would seem a natural for an attempt to replace a missing engine in a 308 that would remain locked away for lack of an orignal motor or low funds. Of course the above will draw flames from the purists, but isn't a Ferrari driving down the road with ANY motor better than never driving at all? Any info appreciated.
