A couple of people asked about the fate of the GTE's at the Freshman Auction in Los Angeles. I only attended the preview, but the results were posted on RM's site this week. I have included a link to their results page (cars only, parts are not listed), but the GTE's are as follows:
"1964" 250 GTE - $30,800
1962 250 GTE (No Engine or Transmission) - $12,000
1965 330 GTE - $16,000

Looks like that link did not work. Try going to http://www.rmauctions.com, push the "results" button, then the "Vintage Sports and Racing Cars in Los Angeles 2002" button, then choose the options you want.

Was it in the car or in one of the boxes that came with the car?

RM told me it was not in the car but they had agreed to throw in a transmission but had no idea what the original serial # was.
