John, the fact that the door caps were painted black had a reason in the 50th.
this is called "passiv security" sound comical now.
But this was a line of thoughts.
The driver should be FULL focused on what he is doing.
and not be distracted by refflection and other things
The direction switch Ceam on the steering columm MUST but be put back to neutral also concirning this
principle but was actuelly introduced on PF-COUPE ,
Maybe only practiced on euroeen cars.
This" passiv security" can be read in several carmagazines of those days.

P.S.new pictures later
Ferrari and "passive safety". That's a joke. They could start by labeling their switches. Now that would go a long way for safety.

john
John, could it be you're bakelite knobs are missing something?
w=wiper I=interior lamp etc etc
Maybe you can find ALSO a note too for this special ordered knobs.
see doorcap note !
THIS IS ONLY DUTCHHUMOR.
I did owned several PF's all with an indication ,but not on the beavertail switches of course.
best

Okay, see if anyone (well, PF Coupe lover) can point out the oddity in Conelis' Post 419.

john
If the picture you're asking about is the the one with the luggage, I give up!

Yes Andrew,

My expierance with those reproductions are doubfull.

other pic shows the two diff ones, the one with the bigger window belong to this thread.

I am trying to get some more info to keep this thread a few days more.
looking in my Ferrari -stuff i found an old Motor Revue auteum 1958 nr 27
In this mag there is a test by Paul Frere with diff 250gt's (in german however.)
One of the is 0891GT, a Berlinettta TDF( ex Seidel ???ß) and a beautyfull S1 cabrio compared to each other.
This mag cost 5 german marks in 1958.
I was told a standard labour loan was 20 DM in a MONTH !!

P.S.
Some thing must be said about TY
Starting this little thread cost really time.
Not to compair to keep a whole side a live !
with restauration dairy, filtering spam ,anwsering mails etc etc
I must say he has my full RESPECT.
Doing this next to a normal job
Chapeaux.

Yes, I am talking about the picture with the trunk open and the luggage.

If you really know your PF coupe, you'll detect something with the tail lamps in this photo. But what?

I am not that expert John, but you probebly see the two tone lenses.
Yellow/Red Europeen model lens.
all Red is US-export . model.
these compleet tailunits are very rear to find , after they started a new production line 250GT Carlifornia spider.
No repros till now?

I placed these two pics 2+7
Because they show clearly that the rubbermats which were fixated with pressbuttons on the floor.
Original mats which can be found on old period PF factory pictures.
From 166,212 375MM, 500mondial, all 250GT and some 330GT.
They were delivered new with the car -I think-
Those mats very popular in the 50th &60th.
Thery were available for most italien cars from fiat 500 till all Alfa's
Stange we don't see them in those 100 point cars.
To reproduce them with the right logos ,will be more difficult that those reproduction motor decals.
On unrestaurated Worn wilson carpet, I found some times the female parts of the pressbuttons on top of the Wilsons
see pic 2 ,At the pedals visible.
logos see attached pics.
