I am loving my new 330. but I would like to get a little more noise out the exhaust.
Has anyone experimented with the Ansa exhaust in terms or removing front or rear sections and replacing with straight pipes just
to get a bit more music? I dont want to reinvent the wheel but haven't found anything on line. the rears would be easiest to remove.

Re: 330-SII removing rear muffler for more sound
Hi Michael,
I cut the rear set of mufflers on a GTE a few years ago for customer that wanted a little more rumble, and it seemed to work fine. They were ANSAs and the sound was deeper and throatier. I don't know if it would have droned on long trips, but don't all loud exhausts eventually get on your nerves after a while on the highway?

I replaced the rear section of my car years ago with straight pipes and added Snaps; the rear section was rotted and this was a solution of sorts. The sound was a novelty for a while, especially when climbing hills, then it got old fast.

I very much liked the sound with complete straight pipes and 275 Tail Pipe Silencers! Not too loud and very responsive engine!
Good is also an empty Ansa system with Snaps!
A bit disappointing is a complete new Ansa System... Sounds a bid closed and feels so in higher revs...

My 250GTE was surprisingly quiet when I got it. I removed the front 2 mufflers, leaving the rear section as-is. What a difference. It is not too loud, doesn't drone, and (don't laugh) runs much better. Throttle response is crisper, and low end torque is not affected. The system is an ANSA that was replaced (maybe) 10 years ago and appeared to be nearly new. It's relatively easy to do at any competent muffler shop, and easy to reverse if you don't like the outcome.

Here's a picture of the exhaust while the rear suspension is being rebuilt.

looking at the set up , and whats already welded and what is bolted and clamped, you are correct- the front "double muffler" section
would be easy to remove, and replace with straight thru pipes. I may try it and see if its too bothersome.
When I had a 456, i replaced the rear mufflers with a sport nouvalari, and it was still too quite. then , after removing them and just running the central resonator, i found the exhaust note to be perfect.
i will let you know when I get around to it.
