Sorry, I don't have an answer, but have you consulted your owners and/or service manuals for purpose (or location and perhaps originality) of these switches in question ?

A quick update and a question:

The second teardown and rebuild of the engine is progressing well and I hope to have the car and its engine back together again in a couple of weeks.

While waiting for the engine work to be completed, had the car rewired using the diagrams that Tom K sent. (Thank you!)

As I have understood this car has two switches on the dash for two separate fuel pumps.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why there were two?

Wouldn't one be sufficient?

I fear I am missing something here, hence the question.

Best
Hi A.D.,

I'm glad you like the look.

My first question is are you sure there are two switches? If my memory serves me correctly, the later 365s eliminated the mechanical fuel pump, so the switch was eliminated so the fuel pumps ran continuously. The earlier cars had an "A" switch to manually operate the pump so the mechanical pump ran like the older 330s and 250s. There is, however, a "M" switch on the far left sided of the dash that cuts power to the ignition switch. Is this the extra switch you're talking about? Perhaps someone wired this switch to operate the fuel pumps instead?

Hi A.D.:

The switches you want are hard to find and if you find them they will be expensive. Try the usual suspects; Tom S. Dennis McCann, etc.

The question is old, but to complete the point - Incredibly, I found two unused switches in the pile of spares that came with the car!

Now the next question:

I understand that there is a marker lens on the side of the bumper.

I do not know if the ones on my car (12171) were amber or clear. I suspect they were amber.

In any case I am unable to find a set in the usual places.

I vaguely remember someone (Tom K?) posting that his were amber, and that he had them made,
and that additional ones could be available upon request.

However I am now unable to find that post.

Could anyone help ?

Thanks Tom. Do you know if 12171 should have amber or clear lenses?

I've always seen amber lenses. I think the color depends on which country the car was originally delivered, but amber seems to be more common.

I think the small lens at the side was always Amber, the front lenses were either or amber, depending upon the market. Usually from memory Germany and other Euro markets had clear from lenses.

There's a port with an adaptor for the oil line on the left(7/12) side of the block just under the distributor drive. It should be pretty obvious. If you're not running the original style oil line than you can run a mechanical oil gauge off the port there to get the reading,

Does anyone have a picture of the original fusebox for the 365 GT 2 + 2?

And any idea where I could buy one?

Thanks
