Unknown Bracket

Post by John Vardanian »

Does anyone have one of these brackets on their car? No doubt it holds a cable in place, but where does it go? My car did not come with a choke. Thanks in advance.

Hi John,

If I had to guess, this bracket may go on one of the large bolts that holds the steering column in place. See if it fits anywhere near there.

Good luck.

Thanks, do you think the cable jaw holds the radiator blind cable then?

John you're bracket belongs 100% to the choke cable
i do have two of those the are fixated on the distributor nut base
Every 250gt came with a choke even you think you´re came without.
I think the pre owner simply remove it.
in the warmer country you don´t need it at all when he runs.
Tom´s guess is wrong see pics below
the radiator winding wheel has it guide integrated with /on the wheel construction.

Cornelis, thanks. The hole on the bracket is 8mm, so it would mount on the distributor base. I have to do some research and see where the choke pull lever goes on other Lussos. I could not find find an empty hole on my dash where the lever might go.

John,
No hole anywhere, it hangs with a simple bracket on the other side of the steeringbearingholder.

My 330 2+2 has a choke for the Weber DCZ. I miss the choke cable bracket. the choke cable was just fastened with a cable strap at the accelerator cable bracket. Does anybody have a pic how the original bracket and cable assembly looks like. The one here in this post seems to be not suitable for a 330 2+2 . I assume it should be a bracket with L-shape but also attached to the distributor nut.

Thanks a lot! A pic says more than 1000 words. Now I know what to fabricate assuming this piece is unabtainable.

Forgot to mention this is a late car heater control valve at rear of engine not front.
The post seems to be swaged at bottom under the 3 bolt bracket.
but I guess you could weld it in place as well

My car is also a later Series 2. So it matches exactly.

Hello Daytonaman,
here is a pic of my choke lever location. It is hidden under the dash board, driver side (LH).
