Hood badge ID please

Post by Jumprun »

Is this a 330 GT hood badge? It measures 35 x 59.75.

Here are photos from the Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena that show badge variations over the years. Sorry for low quality iPhone photos, but hopefully they will help identify your badge:

For some reason, only one pic per post works ...

I think from the museum photos, yours seems to match the 1960 version best, so it seems like it should be a 330 GT badge. Closeups of the museum photos are below -- the 2010 seems to be the closest alternate possibility, but the etching on the horse's main is pretty washed out on the modern badges:

Thank you, yes the 1960 looks the closest. What about the curved back?

By eye, it looks roughly the same curve as mine, but no way to know for sure. In most brands, the same badge fits all cars. Without thinking about it much, I've always assumed it was the same for Ferrari, but looking at how curved it is, I'm not sure how they would pull that off with different body shapes. Hopefully someone will chime in whether it's "one curve fits all" or if there were actually different badge shapes for the vintage cars.

A GTC uses a flat badge.
Maybe someone can look at their car and report: curved or flat? and what car.

It is a nice badge, I’d like to get it into the right hands.

I’m in need of a hood badge for my S2 330 GT. I would be interested in purchasing if this is indeed the correct badge.

Just for interest/information, the Factory still supplies versions of these badges. Part 60795400 they list for 308s through to F40s/F50s and part 62673100 with a single mounting stud/nut and adhesive backing for 348/355 onwards. We still have a handful of part 60043007 (NLA at the Factory now) listed for earlier models as well.

The Factory has gone through a lot of supersessions on this part over the years and I'm sure that they don't note the differences!

Cheers

The badge on my 330 GT S2 is curved. It's kind of hard to see the curve with the reflection of the paint, but if you look at it from a 90 degree angle or (probably better) place straight edge over the length of the top of the badge, it has a curve.
