Ferrari 250 Wire Terminal Boots
Ferrari 250 Wire Terminal Boots
Parker Hall writes in his booklet that his 250 Cabriolet used 12-13 wire terminal boots - see picture. I know of the two for the ignition coils each and one for each distributor. Where were the others used?
Thanks

No, coils and resistors only have ONE each. Look at the Parts Books.
Re: Ferrari 250 Wire Terminal Boots
Ignore my previous post, Mechaniker is correct for the ENTIRE engine.
Re: Ferrari 250 Wire Terminal Boots
Thanks Dyke, Mechaniker,
the ones on my old loom for Water and Oil temp sender were bigger one’s covering also the top of the sender units - see bottom of pic. Are these correct or do I need to change them?
Thanks

Re: Ferrari 250 Wire Terminal Boots
i assume the parts manual would show all the locations of the boots. At least on the 330 parts books it does

My fault:
Not the water temp sensor uses two covers, but the fan switch...

Re: Ferrari 250 Wire Terminal Boots
Hi Ed,
We (330 GT people) are spoiled. No exploded view parts books on the 250s, so no locations.

Re: Ferrari 250 Wire Terminal Boots
I think we are talking about two types of "boots". There is the kind that goes on the coils (2 per) and the generator (2 per) and they look like the ones in the first post diagram. Then there is the type that covers the water/oil temp sensors--- see link:

Boots also go over the side marker light and fog light terminals, which I do not know if one can source. In a pinch, you may take the black rubber spark plug boots (as sold by Restoration Supply), clip off the tails and make yourself boots for these lights.

Thanks to you all for your answers. I was missing the ones at the thermoswitch of the fan. Now got it right.
