I am the same as tom and run all my engines with protruding liners, I mearly do this to keep the engine stock and believe you can get a better seal with the liners like that. As for running the Elring I would not like to say if they would work or not on a decked block.

I too, made a mistake using the elring head gasket with the stock protrusion. I want to keep the protrusion and use another gasket. Please help!

Hi noted, sorry it has taken so long to reply as I have been doing some late nights getting our gtc ready for a full repaint. The gasket that I use with the stock protrusions are from Geoffrey ohland at parts source. if you speak to him and tell what you are needing and he can sort you out. I also use a copper gasket dressing just to ensure the best possible result as stripping these engines is not something you want to be doing to frequently. Hope this helps. Scott
