Yellow Hose Salant

Is it a good idea to use a little bit of fuel resistant sealant when securing the fittings to a new yellow hose? I have new ferrules. What do you folks do?

Appreciate and advice. First time doing this.

I’ve used Blue Hylomar successfully in the past.

I can’t say if my success was good judgement or good luck.

For sealing fuel and oil fasteners, I have found that Loctite 518 which apparently is equivalent to Permatex51813, works quite well. I like to apply it to the threads with a small, cheap paintbrush. However, if it were me, before I took advice from Steve Meltzer, I'd check with the "Pros from Dover".

Steve is correct, Locktite 518 is the solution.
