GTC Turn Signals
This all started when my wife noticed that the right parking light on my 330 GTC did not function. I replaced the bulb and that parking light works fine. However, testing other light functions I found that I have no turn signals…. Not left or right, nor front nor back and the dash indicators don’t work either. Headlights work great, as well as the bright and dim switch. I've checked the fuse several times and it works great.
There is an old flasher can with female butt-type connectors under the dash. However, the flasher can had no wires connected to it whatsoever, nor any dangling wires suggesting that they should've been connected to it. I've removed the flasher and enclosed a picture.
With the ignition key in the run position, a 12 V test light shows no voltage at that can nor on any of the terminals in the connector (also pictured) with white wires and the white and black striped wire. I tried applying 12 V with a power probe to both the can and all terminals within the plastic connector, which I had pulled apart. Under no circumstances was I able to get any turn signals. Is the problem in the turn signal switch or the nut behind the wheel? Or perhaps something in my testing methodology?
thanks, Steve

Re: TURN SIGNAL WOES ON MY 330 GTC
I redid the methodology for testing the turn signals, and found that I did in fact have turn signals, including the dash indicators. However., they were solid and not flashing. The amazing Jim Simpson at.O.D.D. parts help me solve the dilemma and a nice neat work 'round has been devised by him.

Re: TURN SIGNAL WOES ON MY 330 GTC
When you flick the turn signal switch on your steering column, it energizes the circuit through the flasher. Think of the flasher can as a circuit breaker, and as the current running through it heats the internals up trips the circuit and cuts the current. As it cools, it reconnects until it heats up and trips again. That's how you get a flasher. The newer solid state flashers don't rely on heat to break the circuit. Most Ferrari flashers are two wire units.

Re: TURN SIGNAL WOES ON MY 330 GTC
thanx, Tom. Since there were no wires running to the easily visible flasher, I must assume there is a flasher somewhere else; perhaps within the console placed as a workaround. I hate the idea of digging into that console so I'm not sure what I will do at this point, thanks again for the information. Steve.

For future reference, it would be great to detail your "fix" here...
BTW, is it possible that the can with no wires connected might be an RF suppressor, rather than a flasher?
