I just posted an owner survey from 1971, when most of our cars were just a few years old.
The problems reports by 10% or more of the owners:
Clutch
Electrical
Cooling System
Instruments
Sound familiar?

I loved the part about "an astonishingly high percentage of Ferrari owners do their own work" . . . . that's because they are/were car guys!
how times have changed; it plugs into Tom Kizer's line in the old vs new thread that cars have become transportation appliances.

Interesting that 72% claimed that they drove their cars hard or very hard.
With that type of driving you are bound to experience problems right from the start, is my thought. I doubt if many of us today would fit in that category. Now it is just age and wear causing the problems. (On the cars, of course)

I didn't own a Ferrari until post-2000, but, with the internet, I think parts and service are probably much easier to come by now than 35 years ago. I certainly had no problems in this regard with my 330 and have had none with my current 308.
On the internet, advice, criticism, and gossip travel at the speed of light...reputations are an open book, made and damaged easily. It's a good thing for owners.
